HANSHI NIGEL HOUSTON
6th Dan
I began practising the art of karate in 1980, on the very first night when Shihan Enrico Capaldi opened his club in Guisborough. I am therefore the longest standing member of the club, other than the Chief Instructor.

I am a Black belt 6th Dan, Club Secretary, and Senior Instructor at the club.

My karate qualifications are as follows:
-
In 1985 I was awarded my Shukokai Karate Union Judge award
-
In 1987 I was awarded the Sokudo Karate Association Judge award
-
In 1991 I was awarded the Sokudo Karate Association Referee award
-
In 2009 I was awarded an Instructor's Award at an event by Black Belt International
-
In 2020 as awarded my Level 4 Head Coach by the English Karate Federation

Over the years I have participated in many fighting and kata competitions, and I have won many trophies, and in 1986 I was honoured to fight for the Sokudo Karate Association of Great Britain.

I also assist with charity events and demonstrations held by the club.
